     John Norman MacLeod, 24th of MacLeod was born on 3 August 1788.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Norman MacLeod, 23rd of MacLeod and Sarah Stackhouse.1 He married Anne Stephenson, daughter of John Stephenson, on 16 November 1809.1 He died on 25 March 1835 at age 46.1
     He sold Glenelg in 1810.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)1

     Norman Macleod, 25th of MacLeod was born on 18 July 1812.2 He was the son of John Norman MacLeod, 24th of MacLeod and Anne Stephenson.2 He married, firstly, Hon. Louisa Barbara St. John, daughter of St. Andrew St. John, 14th Baron Saint John of Bletso and Louise Rouse-Boughton, on 15 July 1837.1 He married, secondly, Johanna von Ettingshausen, daughter of unknown Baron von Ettingshausen, on 7 July 1881.2 He died on 5 February 1895 at age 82.2
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.2 In 1847 he encumbered his estates in giving relief in the great potato famine.2
