Brigadier Bernard Lorenzo Fock was born on 24 June 1898.2 He was the son of Colonel Henry Edward William Fock, 5th Baron de Robeck and Anna Cranston Alexander.3,4 He married Hon. Ethel Peggy Cunliffe, daughter of Walter Cunliffe, 1st Baron Cunliffe and Edith Cunningham Boothby, on 5 December 1932.1 He died on 3 June 1957 at age 58.1
He was educated in 1948 at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, EnglandG.2 He fought in the First World War.2 He was commissioned in 1915, in the service of the Royal Horse Artillery.2 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1917 and bar (1920.)2 He retired from the military in 1948, with the rank of Brigadier, late of the Royal Artillery.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Gloucestershire in 1953.2

Sir James Maxwell of Calderwood was the son of Sir John Maxwell of Calderwood and Elizabeth Hamilton.2 He married, firstly, Helen Porterfield, daughter of John Porterfield.2 He married, secondly, Isabel Hamilton, daughter of Sir Alexander Hamilton of Innerwick, circa 12 February 1579.2 He married, thirdly, Lady Margaret Cuninghame, daughter of James Cuninghame, 7th Earl of Glencairn and Margaret Campbell, in 1610.1 He died in 1622.2
He also had two daughters from his first wife, an elder son and six daughters by his second wife and two other sons and four daughters by his third wife.2
