     Ronald Patrick Thorburn was born on 22 April 1926.2 He was the son of Malcolm Murray Thorburn.2 He married, firstly, Margaret Anne Mitchell, daughter of Alec Maskell Mitchell and Hon. Rosemary Jean Balfour, on 5 July 1963.1,2 He married, secondly, Rosemary Anne Platt, daughter of Major Charles John Frederick Platt, in 1987.3 He died on 11 April 2015 at age 88.4
     He was appointed Fellow, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (F.R.I.C.S.)1
