     Margaret Hamilton is the daughter of Hon. John Hamilton and Margaret Home.¹ She married James Buchanan of Drumpellier, son of Andrew Buchanan of Drumpellier.¹
     Her married name became Buchanan.¹

     Catherine Gonzaga was born in 1568.¹ She was the daughter of Ludovico Gonzaga, Duc de Nevers and Henriette de Nevers.¹ She married Henri d'Orléans, Duc de Longueville, son of Leonor d'Orléans, Duc de Longueville and Marie de Bourbon, Duchesse d'Estouteville, in 1588.¹ She died in 1629.¹

     Lady Margaret Hamilton was the daughter of Thomas Hamilton, 6th Earl of Haddington and Helen Hope.¹ She died on 22 February 1768, unmarried.¹

     Lady Christian Hamilton was baptised on 27 December 1702 at Whitekirk, East Lothian, Scotland.³ She was the daughter of Thomas Hamilton, 6th Earl of Haddington and Helen Hope.¹ A contract for the marriage of Lady Christian Hamilton and Sir James Dalrymple of Hailes, 2nd Bt. was signed on 17 December 1725.¹ She died on 30 June 1770 at age 67.¹
     From 17 December 1725, her married name became Dalrymple.¹

     Sir James Dalrymple of Hailes, 2nd Bt. was born on 24 July 1692.² He was the son of Hon. Sir David Dalrymple of Hailes, 1st Bt. and Janet Rochead.² A contract for the marriage of Sir James Dalrymple of Hailes, 2nd Bt. and Lady Christian Hamilton was signed on 17 December 1725.¹ He died on 24 February 1751 at age 58.²
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Dalrymple, of Hailes, co. Haddington [N.S., 1700] on 3 December 1721.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Haddington between 1722 and 1734.² He held the office of Auditor of the Exchequer [Scotland].²
