Stephen Richard St. Leger Blakeney was born on 31 March 1898 at India.1 He was also reported to have been born on 31 March 1897 at Rathdown, County Dublin, Ireland.2 He was the son of Richard Henry Blakeney and Henrietta May Catterson-Smith.1 He married Mary Alice Falkiner, daughter of Norman Fraser Falkiner and Mary Louisa Smithwick, on 8 March 1923.1 He died in 1984 at Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.3
