     He was Sergeant with the Royal Irish Constabulary circa 1823.¹ On 12 August 1823 he lead a team of police who were involved in a fight with a public house patron, a Richard McDaniel, who was mortally wounded.¹ On 25 March 1824 he was found guilty of manslaughter, and sentenced to be transported for life.¹ He emigrated to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia^G, arriving on 22 February 1825 transported 'for life' aboard Asia I.¹ He was a school master in 1826 at Carters Barracks, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia^G.¹ On 26 October 1827 he received a conditional pardon.¹ He was Commissioner for the Road Trust in 1854 at Maitland, New South Wales, Australia^G.¹ He was member of the District Council in 1855 at Maitland, New South Wales, Australia^G.¹
