General Sir Richard Campbell Stewart was the son of Lt.-Gen. Thomas Stewart and Jane Christina Campbell.2 He married Mona Gough Haines, daughter of Colonel Gregory Haines and Hon. Jane Eliza Mona Gough, in 1870.2 He died on 14 December 1904 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, EnglandG, after being thrown from his horse.2

Lt.-Col. Humphfrey Hayes Kennedy was born on 19 January 1882.1 He was the son of Gilbert George Kennedy and Alice Lyon.1 He married Noelle Evelyn Campbell Stewart, daughter of General Sir Richard Campbell Stewart and Mona Gough Haines, on 14 July 1917.1 He died on 29 July 1918 at age 36, killed in action.1
He fought in the Boer War between 1901 and 1902, where he won a medal with five clasps.1 He fought in the North-West Frontier in 1908, where he again won a medal with a clasp.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 2nd Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders.1,2 He fought in the First World War.1
