Frederick Henry Cotton was born on 1 March 1848.1 He was the son of Reverend Henry James Cotton and Elisabeth Emma Stovin.2 He married Florence Hester Lavinia Legh, daughter of Charles Richard Banastre Legh, on 8 December 1870.1 He died on 1 June 1921 at age 73.1
