     Elfreda Gabriel Fenwick was born in 1878 at Roehampton, Surrey, EnglandG.2 She was the daughter of John Fenwick Fenwick and Mary Pearson Gabriel.1,2 She married Alexander Adair Roche, Baron Roche, son of William Brock Roche and Mary Fraser, on 22 March 1902.1 She died on 20 December 1955 at Chadlington, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2
     From 22 March 1902, her married name became Roche.1 After her marriage, Elfreda Gabriel Fenwick was styled as Baroness Roche on 14 October 1935.

     John Fenwick Fenwick was born on 6 January 1843 at Tynemouth, Northumberland, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Captain John Fenwick and Mary Fenwick.2 He married Mary Pearson Gabriel, daughter of Sir Thomas Gabriel, Bt. and Mary Dutton Pearson, on 10 April 1869 at All Saints, Wandsworth, Surrey, EnglandG.2 He died in 1911 at Ledbury, Herefordshire, EnglandG.2
     He lived at Spencer House, Wimbledon Common, London, EnglandG.1

     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Wadham College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1932 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 92nd and 365th Field Brigade, Royal Artillery.1 He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1945, where he was mentioned in despatches.1

     Thomas Roe, 1st and last Baron Roe was born on 13 July 1832 at Derby, Derbyshire, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Thomas Roe and Deborah Oakley.1 He married Emily Kirtley, daughter of Matthew Kirtley, on 28 August 1903.1 He died on 7 June 1923 at age 90, without issue.1
     He was with Messrs. Roe and Son Ltd in 1854.1 He held the office of Mayor of Durham between 1867 and 1868.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Derby between 1883 and 1895.1 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1894.1 He held the office of Mayor of Durham between 1896 and 1897.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Derbyshire.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Derby between 1900 and 1916.1 He held the office of Mayor of Durham between 1910 and 1911.1 He was created 1st Baron Roe, of the Borough of Derby [U.K.] on 5 January 1917.1 On his death, his title became extinct.1
