     Harriet Borthwick is the daughter of Peter Borthwick and Margaret Colville.¹

     Hon. Oliver Andrew Borthwick was born on 2 March 1873.¹ He was the son of Algernon Borthwick, 1st and last Baron Glenesk and Alice Beatrice Lister.¹ He died on 23 March 1905 at age 32, unmarried.¹

     Arthur Shirley Benn, 1st and last Baron Glenravel was born on 20 December 1858.¹ He was the son of Reverend John Watkins Benn and Maria Louisa Hamilton.^1,3 He married Alys Maria Luling, daughter of F. A. Luling, on 9 May 1888.⁴ He died on 13 June 1937 at age 78, without issue.¹
     He was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, England^G.¹ He emigrated to Canada^G.¹ He gained the rank of in the Canadian Garrison Artillery.¹ He was British Vice Consul to Mobile, Alabama.¹ He emigrated to England arriving on 1902.¹ He was managing director of Hunter Benn and Company, Merchants and Timber Shippers.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Plymouth between 1910 and 1918.⁴ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1918.⁴ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Plymouth, Drake Division between 1918 and 1929.⁴ He was created 1st Baronet Benn [U.K.] on 26 July 1926.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Sheffield, Park Division between 1931 and 1935.⁴ He was created 1st Baron Glenravel, of Kensington, co. London [U.K.] on 1 February 1936.¹ On his death, his titles became extinct.⁴

     Reverend John Watkins Benn was born in 1814.² He was the son of James Benn and Margaret Dunn.² He married Maria Louisa Hamilton, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Christopher Hamilton and Hon. Sarah Handcock, on 1 September 1853.² He died on 20 October 1874.²
     He was the Rector at Carrigaline, County Cork, Ireland^G.¹ He was the Rector between 1814 and 1874 at Douglas, County Cork, Ireland^G.¹

     Alys Maria Luling was the daughter of F. A. Luling.¹ She married Arthur Shirley Benn, 1st and last Baron Glenravel, son of Reverend John Watkins Benn and Maria Louisa Hamilton, on 9 May 1888.¹ She died on 4 June 1932.¹
     From 9 May 1888, her married name became Benn.¹

     F. A. Luling lived at Springhill, Alabama, U.S.A.^G.¹

     Thomas Coats was born on 15 October 1809.¹ He was the son of James Coats and Catherine Mitchell.^1,2 He married Margaret Glen, daughter of Thomas Glen, on 13 October 1840.¹ He died on 18 October 1883 at age 74.¹
     He lived at Maxwelton, Renfrewshire, Scotland^G.¹ He lived at Ferguslie, Renfrewshire, Scotland^G.¹

     James Coats was born on 1 October 1774.¹ He was the son of George Coats and Katherine Haywood.^2,3 He married Catherine Mitchell, daughter of Peter Mitchell, on 22 November 1802.¹ He died on 19 August 1857 at age 82.¹

     George Coats was born on 14 March 1743.¹ He is the son of James Coats of Dykehead and Agnes Tod.² He married Katherine Haywood.¹

     Margaret Glen was the daughter of Thomas Glen.¹ She married Thomas Coats, son of James Coats and Catherine Mitchell, on 13 October 1840.¹ She died on 29 January 1898.¹
