     He was created 1st Baronet Jocelyn, of Hyde Hall, co. Herts [England] on 8 June 1665.² He held the office of Sheriff of Hertfordshire in 1677.²

     Jane Strange was the daughter of Robert Strange.¹ She married Sir Robert Jocelyn, 1st Bt., son of Sir Robert Jocelyn and Bridget Smith, in 1650.¹ She died circa 26 March 1706.² She was buried on 29 March 1706.²
     From 1650, her married name became Jocelyn.¹
