     Sir Archibald Napier, 7th of Merchistoun was born circa 1534.² He was the son of Alexander Napier, 6th of Merchistoun and Annabella Campbell.³ He married, firstly, Janet Bothwell, daughter of Sir Francis Bothwell and Katherine Bellenden, in 1549.² He married, secondly, Elizabeth Moubray, daughter of John Moubray of Barnbougle, after 1563.¹ He died on 15 May 1608.²
     He held the office of Master of the Mint in 1576.²

     Major James Arthur Charles Gore was born on 10 April 1826.¹ He was the son of General Hon. Sir Charles Stephen Gore and Sarah Rachel Fraser.¹ He married Catherine Louise Bazalgette, daughter of Colonel John Bazalgette and Sarah Magdalene van Norden, on 19 July 1854.¹ He died on 3 January 1901 at age 74.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the 71st Regiment.¹

     Lady Patricia Ruthven was the daughter of Lt.-Gen. Patrick Ruthven, 1st and last Earl of Brentford. She married, firstly, Colonel Thomas Ker of Fernilee before 1640.¹ She married by contract, secondly, Sir Thomas Ogilvy, son of James Ogilvy, 1st Earl of Airlie and Lady Isabel Hamilton, between 21 March 1640 and 28 October 1640.^2,1
     From before 1640, her married name became Ker.¹ From between 21 March 1640 and 28 October 1640, her married name became Ogilvy.²

     Lt.-Gen. Patrick Ruthven, 1st and last Earl of Brentford was born circa 1573.¹ He was the son of Sir William Ruthven and Katharine Stewart.¹ He married, secondly, Jane Henderson, daughter of unknown Henderson, before 1633.¹ He married, thirdly, Clara Berner, daughter of John Berner and Anna Dyerlinck, in 1633.¹ He died on 2 February 1650/51 at Dundee, Angus, Scotland^G, without surviving male issue.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in 1615 in the Swedish Army.¹ He was appointed Knight on 23 September 1627 by Gustavus Adolphus, King of Sweden.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in 1630.¹ He held the office of Governor of Ulm in 1632.¹ He gained the rank of Major-General in 1632.¹ He was created Graf von Kirchberg [Sweden] in April 1632, by Gustavus Adolphus, King of Sweden.¹ He fought in the Battle of Doemitz in 1635.² He gained the rank of Battle of Goldberg.² He fought in the Battle of Lutzen.² He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General and Colonel of Horse in 1635.¹ He gained the rank of Battle of Koesen.² He was created 1st Lord Ruthven of Ettrick [Scotland] in 1639.¹ He held the office of Muster Master-General [Scotland] in 1639.¹ He held the office of Governor of Edinburgh Castle between 1639 and 19 September 1640, which he was forced to surrender.¹ He fought in the Siege of Edinburgh in 1639/40.³ He was created 1st Earl of Forth [Scotland] on 27 May 1642.¹ He was Marshal-General and Commander-in-Chief of the Royalist Army in 1642.² He fought in the Battle of Edgehill in October 1642, where he had the chief command.¹ He fought in the Battle of Brentford on 15 November 1642, where he defeated the Parliamentarian forces.¹ He held the office of Councillor and Lord Chamberlain in 1644, to the Prince of Wales.¹ He was created 1st Earl of Brentford, co. Middlesex [England] on 27 May 1644.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 30 April 1645.¹ He held the office of Envoy to Stockholm in 1649.¹ He held the office of Lord Chamberlain to King Charles II in February 1648/49, when in exile.¹ His last will was dated 8 August 1649.³
     On his death, all of his honours became extinct.¹ Lord Clarendon wrote, "he had been without doubt a very good officer and great experience and was still a man of unquestionable courage and integrity; yet he was now (1644) much decayed in his parts and with the long continued custom of immoderate drinking, dozed in his understanding, which had been never quick and vigorous; he having been always illiterate to the greatest degree that can be imagined."¹

     Christian Ogilvy was the daughter of Sir Thomas Ogilvy and Lady Patricia Ruthven.¹ She married Sir James Ramsay, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Gilbert Ramsay, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Blair.¹
     Her married name became Ramsay.¹

     Reverend John Craven was the son of Charles Craven and Elizabeth Staples.¹ He married, firstly, Elizabeth Raymond, daughter of Sir Jemmett Raymond, before 1779.¹ He married, secondly, Catherine Hughes, daughter of James Hughes, on 6 July 1779.¹ He died on 19 June 1804.¹
     He lived at Chilton House, Wiltshire, England^G.¹

     Catherine Louise Bazalgette was the daughter of Colonel John Bazalgette and Sarah Magdalene van Norden.^1,2 She married Major James Arthur Charles Gore, son of General Hon. Sir Charles Stephen Gore and Sarah Rachel Fraser, on 19 July 1854.¹ She died on 16 March 1921.¹
     From 19 July 1854, her married name became Gore.¹

     Colonel John Bazalgette is the son of Jean Louis Bazalgette and Catherine Theresa Mativier.² He married Sarah Magdalene van Norden, daughter of John van Norden and Magdelen de la Noy.²

     Catherine Hughes was born before 1764. She was the daughter of James Hughes.¹ She married Reverend John Craven, son of Charles Craven and Elizabeth Staples, on 6 July 1779.¹ She died on 31 March 1839.¹
     Her married name became Craven.
