Lady Margaret Montgomerie was the daughter of Hugh Montgomerie, 3rd Earl of Eglinton and Agnes Drummond.1 She married Robert Seton, 1st Earl of Winton, son of George Seton, 5th Lord Seton and Isabel Hamilton, on 10 April 1582.1 She died on 9 April 1624.1

Hugh Montgomerie, 3rd Earl of Eglinton was born after 1536.1 He was the son of Hugh Montgomerie, 2nd Earl of Eglinton and Mariot Seton.2 He married, firstly, Lady Jean Hamilton, daughter of James Hamilton, 2nd Earl of Arran and Lady Margaret Douglas, circa 13 February 1554/55.2 He and Lady Jean Hamilton were divorced on 30 May 1562 on the grounds of consanguinity.2 He married, secondly, Agnes Drummond, daughter of Sir John Drummond, 2nd of Innerpeffray and Margaret Stewart, before 10 August 1562.2 He died on 3 June 1585.1
He succeeded as the 4th Lord Montgomerie [S., 1445] on 3 September 1546.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Eglinton [S., 1507] on 3 September 1546.2 He fought in the Battle of Langside in 1568, for Mary Queen of Scots.2 In 1582 he was invloved in the 'Raid of Ruthven.2'

Robert Seton, 2nd Earl of Winton was born circa 1583.1 He was the son of Robert Seton, 1st Earl of Winton and Lady Margaret Montgomerie.1 He married Anne Maitland, daughter of John Maitland, 1st Lord Maitland of Thirlestane and Jean Fleming, on 1 February 1602/3.1 He died, without issue.1
He went mad on his wedding night, emptying a chamberpot down his wife's cleavage. He was kept shut away at Seton Hall until his death.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Winton [S., 1600] on 22 March 1603.1 He succeeded as the 7th Lord Seton [S., 1451] on 22 March 1603.1 On 26 June 1606 he resigned his earldom in favour of his younger brother, George.1

George Seton, 3rd Earl of Winton was born in December 1584.1 He was the son of Robert Seton, 1st Earl of Winton and Lady Margaret Montgomerie.1 He married, firstly, Lady Anne Hay, daughter of Francis Hay, 9th Earl of Erroll and Lady Elizabeth Douglas, on 26 April 1609.1 He married, secondly, Hon. Elizabeth Maxwell, daughter of John Maxwell, 6th Lord Herries of Terregles and Elizabeth Maxwell, before 1628.2 He died from 15 December 1650 to 17 December 1650.1
