Richard Talbot, 2nd Lord Talbot1

Richard Talbot, 2nd Lord Talbot was born circa 1305.2 He was the son of Gilbert Talbot, 1st Lord Talbot and Ann le Botiler.1,2 He married Elizabeth Comyn, daughter of John 'the Red' Comyn, 2nd of Badenoch and Joan de Valence, from 24 July 1326 to 23 March 1326/27.2 He died on 23 October 1356.1
In 1332 he participated in Edward Balliol's descent on Scotland.2 He fought in the Battle of Dupplin Moor on 12 August 1332.2 In 1334 he was captured by the Scots.2 In 1335 he was ransomed.2 He held the office of Keeper of Berwick-upon-Tweed between 1337 and 1355.2 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) before 1338.2 He held the office of Chief Keeper of Southampton in February 1339/40.2 He held the office of Chief Justice of Gloucestershire and Worcestershire in 1341.2 He fought in the Battle of Morlaix on 30 September 1342.2 He held the office of Stewad of the King's Household in 1345.2 He fought in the Battle of Crécy in 1346.2 He fought in the Siege of Calais from 1346 to 1347.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Talbot [E., 1332] on 24 February 1345/46.2 He held the office of Keeper of Pembroke and Tenby Castles from January 1349/50 to 1351.2
