     John Cayley was born on 11 February 1816.¹ He was the son of John Cayley and Harriett Raikes.² He married, firstly, Catherine Mary Maine, daughter of Captain unknown Maine, on 4 August 1841.¹ He married, secondly, Clara Louisa Boulton, daughter of Hon. Henry John Boulton, on 5 October 1847.¹ He died in 1900.¹
     He lived at Holmdene, Bickley, Kent, England^G.¹

     Catherine Mary Maine was the daughter of Captain unknown Maine.² She married John Cayley, son of John Cayley and Harriett Raikes, on 4 August 1841.¹ She died in September 1845, without issue.¹
     From 4 August 1841, her married name became Cayley.

     Hon. Henry John Boulton held the office of Chief Justice of Newfoundland.¹

     Clara Louisa Boulton was the daughter of Hon. Henry John Boulton.² She married John Cayley, son of John Cayley and Harriett Raikes, on 5 October 1847.¹ She died in 1898.¹
     From 5 October 1847, her married name became Cayley.

     Claud Thornton Cayley was born on 9 June 1854.¹ He was the son of John Cayley and Clara Louisa Boulton.² He married, firstly, Esther Mary Bayley, daughter of William Bayley, on 1 June 1881.¹ He married, secondly, Blanche Graham Ford, daughter of John Ford, in May 1927.¹ He died on 31 July 1928 at age 74.¹

     Esther Mary Bayley was the daughter of William Bayley.² She married Claud Thornton Cayley, son of John Cayley and Clara Louisa Boulton, on 1 June 1881.¹ She died in December 1926.¹
     From 1 June 1881, her married name became Cayley.
