Norman Valentine Blacker was born in 1889 at Scaftworth, Nottinghamshire, England.2 He was the son of Major Frederick Henry Blacker and Anna Constance Bazalgette.3,2 He married Olive Georgina Hope, daughter of Colonel Lewis Anstruther Hope and Lucy Elizabeth Palmer, on 17 July 1915.1 He died on 13 May 1958.
     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the East Yorkshire Regiment.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)3 He lived at Fen House, South Walsham, Norfolk, EnglandG.3
