Wilbraham Egerton, 1st and last Earl Egerton of Tatton was born on 17 January 1832.2 He was the son of William Tatton Egerton, 1st Baron Egerton of Tatton and Lady Charlotte Elizabeth Loftus.2 He married, firstly, Lady Mary Sarah Percy Amherst, daughter of William Pitt Amherst, 2nd Earl Amherst of Arracan and Gertrude Percy, on 15 October 1857.2 He married, secondly, Alice Anne Graham-Montgomery, daughter of Sir Graham Graham-Montgomery, 3rd Bt. and Alice Hope Johnstone, on 8 August 1894 at Chapel, Lambeth Palace, Lambeth, London, EnglandG.3 He died on 16 March 1909 at age 77, without male issue.4
He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Cheshire between 1858 and 1868.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Mid-Cheshire between 1868 and 1883.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Egerton of Tatton, co.
