Owen Stanley Buckmaster, 2nd Viscount Buckmaster was born on 24 September 1890.1 He was the son of Stanley Owen Buckmaster, 1st Viscount Buckmaster and Edith Augusta Lewin.1 He married, firstly, Joan Simpson, daughter of George Augustus Garry Simpson, on 21 December 1916.1 He and Joan Simpson were divorced in 1944.1 He married, secondly, Diana Constance Seth-Smith, daughter of Major Kenneth Arthur Seth-Smith, on 23 January 1961.1 He died on 25 September 1974 at age 84.1
He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, EnglandG.2 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1912 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 ) He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1913 entitled to practise as a barrister.2 He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 30 October 1914.3 He gained the rank of Captain on 2 June 1915 in the 7th Battalion, Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Buckmaster [U.K., 1933] on 5 December 1934.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Buckmaster, of Cheddington, co.
