     Rt. Hon. Sir Walter Boyd, 1st Bt. was born on 28 January 1833.¹ He was the son of Walter Boyd and Jane Macrory.^2,1 He married Annie Catherine Anderson, daughter of Matthew Anderson, on 4 September 1862. He died on 25 June 1918 at age 85.¹
     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G, in 1855 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was admitted to King's Inn in 1856 entitled to practise as a barrister.¹ He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G, in 1864.¹ He was appointed Queen's Counsel (Q.C.) in 1877.¹ He was a practising Queen's Advocate Ireland between 1878 and 1885.¹ He held the office of Judge of the Bankruptcy Court of Ireland between 1885 and 1897.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He held the office of Judge of the High Court, King's Bench Division between 1897 and 1916.¹ He held the office of Judge of the Admiralty Court between 1910 and 1916.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in 1916.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Boyd, of Howth House, Howth, co. Dublin [U.K.] on 29 June 1916.¹

     Sir Walter Herbert Boyd, 2nd Bt. was born on 31 March 1867.¹ He was the son of Rt. Hon. Sir Walter Boyd, 1st Bt. and Annie Catherine Anderson.¹ He married Ruth Fry, daughter of Sir William Fry, on 19 December 1901.¹ He died on 17 April 1948 at age 81, without surviving male issue.¹
     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G, with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)¹ He was a practising barrister in 1891.¹ He held the office of Chief Registrar of the Bankruptcy Court of Ireland between 1912 and 1937.¹ He was appointed King's Counsel (K.C.) in 1918.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Boyd, of Howth House, Howth, co. Dublin [U.K., 1916] on 25 June 1918.¹
