Sir Edward des Bouverie, 2nd Bt. was born in 1687.1 He was the son of Sir William des Bouverie, 1st Bt. and Anne Urry.1 He married Mary Smyth, daughter of John Smith, on 7 July 1718 at Somerset House Chapel, Strand, London, EnglandG.1 He died on 21 November 1736 at Aix-en-Provence, Provence, FranceG, without issue.1 He was buried at Britford, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1
In 1717 he purchased the estate of Longford Castle, in Britford, Wiltshire.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet des Bouverie, of St. Catherine Cree Church, London [G.B., 1714] on 19 May 1717.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Shaftesbury between 1718 and 1734.1

Robert Burghersh, 1st Lord Burghersh was the son of Reynold Burghersh.1 He married Maud Badlesmere, daughter of Guncelin de Badlesmere and Joan FitzBernard. He died between 2 July 1306 and 8 October 1306.1
He held the office of Warden of the Cinque Ports between 1299 and 1306.1 He held the office of Constable of Dover Castle between 1299 and 1306.1 He was created 1st Lord Burghersh [England by writ] on 12 November 1303.1

According to Bligh, he had a dark complexion and blackhair, and was tattooed.2
