     Howland Christian was born circa 1883.¹ He was the son of George Henry Parkin Christian and Augusta Ross Adams.¹ He died before 1920.¹
     Lost at sea while crossing the bar at 'Mane Kau'.¹

     Joan Christian was born on 22 September 1917 at Auckland, New Zealand.² She was the daughter of Howland Christian and Emma Petherbridge.¹ She died on 25 March 1991 at age 73 at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia^G.¹
