     Reverend Robert Copeman was born on 9 October 1858 at Dunham Lodge, Norfolk, England^G.¹ He is the son of George Copeman and Elizabeth Hare.¹ He married Adelaide Mary Anne Pearson, daughter of Reverend Henry Pearson and Adelaide Catherine Carter, in 1888.²

     Mary Law was born on 27 April 1744 at Greystoke, Cumberland, England^G.¹ She was the daughter of Rt. Rev. Edmund Law and Mary Christian.¹ She married Reverend James Stephen Lushington, son of Thomas Godfrey Lushington and Dorothy Gisborne, on 5 April 1764.¹ She died on 24 July 1768 at age 24.¹
     From 5 April 1764, her married name became Lushington.¹

     Reverend James Stephen Lushington was born in November 1734 at Rodmersham, Kent, England^G.¹ He was the son of Thomas Godfrey Lushington and Dorothy Gisborne.^1,2 He married, firstly, Mary Law, daughter of Rt. Rev. Edmund Law and Mary Christian, on 5 April 1764.¹ He married, secondly, Mary Christian, daughter of Reverend Humphrey Christian and Elizabeth Brett, in 1775.^1,3 He died on 17 June 1801 at age 66 at Rodmersham, Kent, England^G.¹
     He was Vicar at Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, England.⁴ He held the office of Prebendary of Carlisle Cathedral.⁵

     Edmund Henry Lushington was born on 11 July 1766.¹ He was the son of Reverend James Stephen Lushington and Mary Law.¹ He married, firstly, Louisa Faulkner Phillips, daughter of Thomas Phillips and Sarah (?), on 2 January 1801.¹ He married, secondly, Sophia Phillips, daughter of Thomas Phillips and Sarah (?), on 10 August 1810 at Manchester Cathedral, Manchester, Lancashire, England^G.^2,3 He died on 27 March 1839 at age 72 at Park House, Kent, England^G.¹
     He was a practising Barrister-at-Law.¹ He held the office of Puisne Judge [Ceylon].¹
