Charlotte Warrender1

     Charlotte Warrender was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Patrick Warrender of Lochend, 3rd Bt. and H. Blair.1 She married Maj.-Gen. Sir John Dalrymple of North Berwick, 5th Bt., son of Sir Hew Hamilton-Dalrymple of Bargany, 3rd Bt. and Janet Duff, on 30 July 1806.1 She died on 14 April 1871.1
     From 30 July 1806, her married name became Dalrymple.1

     Maj.-Gen. Sir John Dalrymple of North Berwick, 5th Bt. was born on 2 December 1780.2,3 He was the son of Sir Hew Hamilton-Dalrymple of Bargany, 3rd Bt. and Janet Duff.2 He married Charlotte Warrender, daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Patrick Warrender of Lochend, 3rd Bt. and H. Blair, on 30 July 1806.1 He died on 26 March 1835 at age 54.1
     He was given the name of John Hamilton-Dalrymple at birth.2 He gained the rank of Cornet in 1785 in the 28th Light Dragoons.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1797.3 He gained the rank of Captain in 1800.3 He gained the rank of Captain in 1803 in the 73rd Regiment of Foot.3 He gained the rank of Captain in 1803 in the 42nd Regiment of Foot.3 He gained the rank of Major in 1805 in the 64th Regmnet of Foot.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1805 in the 10th Regiment of Foot.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Haddington Burghs between 1805 and 1806.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1806 in the 22nd Regiment of Foot.3 He gained the rank of Brevet Colonel in 1813.3 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1819.3 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Dalrymple, of North Berwick, co. Haddington [N.S., 1698] on 23 February 1834.2
