     Mary West was born circa 1704.² She was the daughter of Reverend Richard West and Mary Temple.^1,3 She married Admiral Alexander Hood, 1st Viscount Bridport of Cricket St. Thomas, son of Reverend Samuel Hood and Mary Hoskins, on 21 August 1758.^1,2 She died on 12 September 1786.³
     From 21 August 1758, her married name became Hood.¹

     Sir Alexander Hood, 2nd Bt. was born on 5 July 1793.² He was the son of Captain Alexander Hood and Elizabeth Periam.^1,2 He married Amelia Anne Bateman, daughter of Sir Hugh Bateman, 1st Bt. and Temperance Gisborne, on 3 August 1815.² He died on 7 March 1851 at age 57.²
