Alexander Mac Donnell, 3rd Earl of Antrim was born in 1615.1 He was the son of Randal Mac Sorley Mac Donnell, 1st Earl of Antrim and Alice O'Neill.1 He married, firstly, Lady Elizabeth Annesley, daughter of Arthur Annesley, 1st Earl of Anglesey and Elizabeth Altham, before 1672.2 He married, secondly, Helena Burke, daughter of Sir John Burke and Lady Mary Bourke, after 1672.3 He died on 10 December 1699.4,5
He was commander of the a regiment of Irish for Cromwell in 1641.1 In 1641 he was attainted by Cromwell.2 In 1660 he was restored to his titles.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Dunluce, co. Antrim [I., 1618] on 3 February 1682.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Antrim [I., 1620] on 3 February 1682.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of County Antrim.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in May 1686.2,6 He was again attainted, for adhering to King James II.2 In 1697 he was again restored.2

Sir John Gay Alleyne, 1st Bt. was born on 28 April 1724.1 He was the son of John Alleyne and Mary Terrill.1 He married, firstly, Christian Dottin, daughter of Joseph Dottin and Ann Jordan, on 19 October 1746 at St. James Church, St. James, Barbados.1,2 He married, secondly, Jane Abel Alleyne, daughter of Abel Alleyne and Jane Skeet, on 29 June 1786 at St. James Church, St. James, Barbados.1,2 He died in 1801.1
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) [Barbados] between 1757 and 1767.1 He held the office of Speaker of the House of Assembly [Barbados] between 1767 and 1797.1 He was created 1st Baronet Alleyne, of Four Hills, in the island of Barbadoes [Great Britain] on 6 April 1769.1
