     Christopher Langdon Brain, 2nd Baron Brain was born on 30 August 1926.1 He was the son of Walter Russell Brain, 1st Baron Brain and Stella Langdon-Down.1 He married Susan Mary Morris, daughter of George Philip Morris, on 11 April 1953.1 He died on 15 August 2014 at age 87.2
     He was educated at Leighton Park School, Reading, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He did his National Service in the Royal Navy between 1946 and 1948.3 He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1952 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1,3 He became a Liveryman in 1955, Weavers' Company.3 He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1956 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)3 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Brain, of Eynsham, co. Oxford [U.K., 1962] on 29 December 1966.4 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Brain, of Eynsham, co. Oxford [U.K., 1954] on 29 December 1966.5 He was registered as a Associate, Royal Photographic Society (A.R.P.S.) in 1970.3 He was a director of Keirman & Company in 1973.3 He lived in 2003 at Alexandra House, 8 Cross Street, Moretonhampstead, Devon, EnglandG.3

     Susan Mary Morris was the daughter of George Philip Morris.1 She married Christopher Langdon Brain, 2nd Baron Brain, son of Walter Russell Brain, 1st Baron Brain and Stella Langdon-Down, on 11 April 1953.1 She died on 21 December 2007.2
     From 11 April 1953, her married name became Brain.1 After her marriage, Susan Mary Morris was styled as Baroness Brain on 29 December 1966.

     Valentine George Crittall, 1st and last Baron Braintree was born on 28 June 1884.1 He was the son of Francis Henry Crittall and Ellen Laura Carter.1,2 He married, firstly, Olive Lillian MacDermott, daughter of Charles Landay MacDermott, on 29 June 1915.1 He married, secondly, Lydia Mabel Revy, daughter of J. J. Revy, in 1933.1 He married, thirdly, Phyllis Dorothy Cloutman, daughter of Curtis Cloutman, on 23 September 1955.1 He died on 21 May 1961 at age 76, without male issue.1
     He was educated at Uppingham, Leicestershire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Essex, Maldon Division between 1923 and 1924.2 He held the office of Parliamentary Private Secretary in 1924, to the Minister of Air.2 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1930.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Essex.2 He was chairman of Crittall Manufacturing Company Ltd.2 He was a director of the Bank of England between 1948 and 1955.2 He was created 1st Baron Braintree, of Braintree, co. Essex [U.K.] on 9 February 1948.1 He lived at Queen's Meadow, Bocking, Braintree, Essex, EnglandG.2
     On his death, his barony became extinct.1
