     Sir Thomas Egerton was born before 1579.² He was the son of Thomas Egerton, 1st Viscount Brackley and Elizabeth Ravenscroft.² He married Isabella Venables, daughter of Thomas Venables.³ He died in August 1599 at Ireland^G.² He was buried on 27 September 1599 at Doddleston, Chester, England^G.²
     He was appointed Knight in 1597 at Calais, France^G.²

     General Hon. Sir Alexander Duff was born circa 1778.² He was the son of Alexander Duff, 3rd Earl Fife and Mary Skene.¹ He married Anne Stein, daughter of James Stein of Kilbagie, on 16 March 1812.³ He died on 21 March 1851 at Walham Green^G.²
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the 37th Foot.³ He was Lieutenant and Sheriff-Principal of Elgin.³ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Hanoverian Order (G.C.H.)³ He lived at Delgaty Castle, Aberdeenshire, Scotland^G.³

     Anne Seymour-Conway was born on 8 November 1748.¹ She was the daughter of Field Marshal Rt. Hon. Henry Seymour-Conway and Lady Caroline Campbell.¹ She married Hon. John Damer, son of Joseph Damer, 1st Earl of Dorchester and Lady Caroline Sackville, on 14 June 1767.¹ She died on 28 May 1828 at age 79.¹
     From 14 June 1767, her married name became Damer. She was a sculptor, including a bust of Charles James Fox for Napoleon, and a one of Nelson for HRH The Duke of Clarence.³ She was left Strawberry Hill by her cousin, Horace Walpole.³

     Hon. John Damer was born on 25 June 1744.² He was the son of Joseph Damer, 1st Earl of Dorchester and Lady Caroline Sackville.^1,2 He married Anne Seymour-Conway, daughter of Field Marshal Rt. Hon. Henry Seymour-Conway and Lady Caroline Campbell, on 14 June 1767.¹ He died on 15 August 1776 at age 32, committing suicide by shooting himself.^3,1

     Brendan Rendall Bracken, 1st and last Viscount Bracken was born on 15 February 1901 at Templemore, County Tipperary, Ireland^G.^1,2 He was the son of J. Kevin A. Bracken and Hannah (?)^1,3 He died on 8 August 1958 at age 57, unmarried.¹
     He was educated after 1916 at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia^G.^1,2 He was educated in 1919 at Sedbergh School, Sedbergh, Cumbria, England^G.¹ He was a teacher in 1919 at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England^G.³ He was a director of Eyre and Spottiswoode Ltd between 1924 and 1940.³ He was chairman of the Financial News between 1928 and 1940.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Paddington between 1929 and 1945.³ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1940.³ He was managing director of The Economist between 1940 and 1941.³ He held the office of Parliamentary Private Secretary between 1940 and 1941, to the Prime Minister.³ He held the office of Minister of Information between 1941 and 1948.³ He was chairman of Union Corporation in 1945.³ He held the office of First Lord of the Admiralty in 1945.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bournemouth between 1945 and 1950.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for East Bournemouth and Christchurch between 1950 and 1951.³ He was created 1st Viscount Bracken, of Christchurch, co. Southampton [U.K.] on 7 January 1952.¹ He lived at 8 North Street, London, England^G.³
     On his death, his viscountcy became extinct.¹ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.²

     William Duff, 1st Earl Fife was born in 1697.² He was the son of William Duff and Helen Gordon.² He married, firstly, Lady Janet Ogilvy, daughter of James Ogilvy, 4th Earl of Findlater and Anne Dunbar, on 19 September 1719 at Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland^G.³ He married, secondly, Jean Grant, daughter of Sir James Grant of Grant, 6th Bt. and Anne Colquhoun, in 1723.² He died on 30 September 1763.²
     Circa 1724 he built the castle of Balvenie.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Banffshire between 1727 and 1734.² He was created 1st Baron Braco of Kilbryde, co.
