Robert Brooke Campbell Scarlett, 6th Baron Abinger was born on 8 January 1876.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Leopold James Yorke Campbell Scarlett and Bessie Florence Gibson.1 He married Jean Marguerite Japy, daughter of Edouard Japy, on 26 June 1917 at Roupell Park Weslyan Chapel, Tulse Hill, London, EnglandG. They were remarried afterwards at the French Consulate in Bedford Square.1 He died on 10 June 1927 at age 51, without issue.1
He was educated at Wellington College, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1909 entitled to practise as a as a barrister.2 He gained the rank of Assistant Paymaster in the Royal Naval Reserve.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.2 He succeeded as the 6th Baron Abinger, of Abinger, Surrey and of the city of Norwich [U.K., 1835] on 23 May 1917.1
