Elizabeth Chapman1

     Elizabeth Chapman was the daughter of Sir Jasper Chapman and Elizabeth Webb.1 She married Sir Oliver Ayshcombe, 1st and last Bt., son of John Ayshcombe and Joan Banninges, after 1686.1 She died circa 1719.1 Her will was proven (by probate) in 1719.1
     From after 1686, her married name became Ayshcombe.1

     Sir Jasper Chapman was born circa 1634.2 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Webb, daughter of Anthony Webb.1 He died on 17 March 1688/89.2
     He was also known as John.2 He held the office of Lord Mayor of London from 1688 to 1689.1

     Sir William Chapman, 1st Bt. was born circa 1670.2 He was the son of Sir Jasper Chapman and Elizabeth Webb.1 He married Elizabeth Webb, daughter of Thomas Webb and Susanne (?), circa 1705.2 He died on 7 May 1737.2 He was buried on 13 May 1737 at St. Peter le Poor, London, EnglandG.2
     He was a merchant at London, EnglandG.2 He was appointed Knight on 4 October 1714.2 He was a director of the South Seas Company.2 He was created 1st Baronet Chapman, of London [Great Britain] on 27 June 1720.2

     Sir William Backhouse, 1st and last Bt. was born circa 1641.1 He was the son of Nicholas Backhouse and Christian Williams.1 He married Flower Backhouse, daughter of Sir John Backhouse and Flower Henshaw, on 23 November 1662 at St. Andrew's Church, Holborn, London, EnglandG.1 He died on 22 August 1669, without issue.1 He was buried at Swallowfield, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered on 14 October 1669.1
     He was created 1st Baronet Backhouse [England] on 9 November 1660.1 He lived in 1664 at Swallowfield, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Berkshire from 1664 to 1665.1
     On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.1
