     Sir Benjamin Ayloffe, 2nd Bt. was baptised on 29 August 1592 at Hornchurch, Essex, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Sir William Ayloffe, 1st Bt. and Catherine Sterne.1 He married, firstly, Alice Archdale, daughter of Martin Archdale and Barbara Sexton, circa 1611.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Fanshawe, daughter of Thomas Fanshawe and Joan Smith, on 9 May 1616 at Barking, Essex, EnglandG.1 He married, thirdly, Margaret Porter, daughter of unknown Porter, before 1662.1 He died circa March 1662.1,2 He was buried on 25 March 1662 at Braxted, Essex, EnglandG.1,2
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Ayloffe, of Braxted Magna, co. Essex [E., 1611] on 5 August 1627, then 'of Great Braxted, co. Essex.1' He held the office of Sheriff of Essex.1 He adhered to King Charles I, and was subsequently imprisoned, with his estates sequestered.1 On 29 May 1649 he was fined £2,000, increased to £3,000.1 He lived at Braxted, Essex, EnglandG.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Essex from 1661 to 1662.1

Alice Archdale1

     Alice Archdale was born in 1581.1 She was the daughter of Martin Archdale and Barbara Sexton.2,1 She married Sir Benjamin Ayloffe, 2nd Bt., son of Sir William Ayloffe, 1st Bt. and Catherine Sterne, circa 1611.2 She died circa November 1612, without male issue, but with one daughter.2,3 She was buried on 28 November 1612 at Hornchurch, Essex, EnglandG.2
     She was also known as Alice Avondale.2 From circa 1611, her married name became Ayloffe.2

Martin Archdale1

     Martin Archdale was the son of John Archdale and Anne (?)1 He married Barbara Sexton, daughter of Thomas Sexton, on 13 June 1575.1 He died on 25 December 1597.1
     He lived at All Hallows, Barking-by-the-Tower, London, EnglandG.1 He was also known as Martin Avondale.2 He purchased Abbotts Hall, Darsham, Suffolk, EnglandG, in 1593.1 He purchased three other manors in Darsham later.1 He was a merchant.1

     Margaret Fanshawe was the daughter of Thomas Fanshawe and Joan Smith.1 She married Sir Benjamin Ayloffe, 2nd Bt., son of Sir William Ayloffe, 1st Bt. and Catherine Sterne, on 9 May 1616 at Barking, Essex, EnglandG.1
     From 9 May 1616, her married name became Ayloffe.1

     Margaret Porter was the daughter of unknown Porter.1 She married, firstly, Sir Benjamin Ayloffe, 2nd Bt., son of Sir William Ayloffe, 1st Bt. and Catherine Sterne, before 1662.1 She and John Wall obtained a marriage license on 3 December 1666.1 She died circa February 1681/82.1 Her will (dated 15 September 1681 to 20 January 1681/2) was proven (by probate) on 13 March 1681/82.1
     From before 1662, her married name became Ayloffe.1 From 3 December 1666, her married name became Wall.1
