     Randal John Somerled McDonnell, 8th Earl of Antrim was born on 22 May 1911.1 He was the son of Randal Mark Kerr McDonnell, 7th Earl of Antrim and Margaret Isabel Talbot.1 He married Angela Christina Sykes, daughter of Sir Tatton Benvenuto Mark Sykes, 6th Bt. and Edith Violet Gorst, on 11 May 1934.1 He died on 26 September 1977 at age 66.3
