General William Ashe à Court was born after 1707.1 He was the son of Pierce à Court and Elizabeth Ashe.1 He married Annabella Vernon, daughter of Thomas Vernon, on 22 February 1746.1 He died on 2 August 1781.1
He was given the name of William à Court at birth.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Heytesbury between 1751 and 1781.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the 11th Foot.2 After 1768 his name was legally changed to William Ashe à Court.1
