Dr. Ralph Bathurst was born in 1620 at Hothorpe, Northamptonshire, EnglandG.1,2 He was the son of George Bathurst and Elizabeth Villiers.1 He married Mary (?) in 1664.2 He died in 1704.2
He was educated circa 1635 at Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2 He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1638 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He was a Fellow in 1640 at Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2 He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1654 with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)1,2 He was a founding member of the Royal Society in 1663.1,2 He held the office of Chaplain to King Charles II in 1663.1,2 He held the office of President of Trinity College, Oxford in 1664.1,2 He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)1 He held the office of Dean of Wells in 1670.1,2 He held the office of Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University between 1673 and 1676.2 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2
