     George Hamilton, 3rd Earl of Abercorn was born circa 1636.1 He was the son of James Hamilton, 2nd Earl of Abercorn and Katherine Clifton, Baroness Clifton (of Leighton Bromswold).1 He died before 1683 at Padua, ItalyG, unmarried.1
     He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Abercorn, co. Linlithgow [S., 1603] circa 1670. He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Paisley, co. Renfrew [S., 1587] circa 1670. He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Abercorn [S., 1606] circa 1670.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Paisley, Hamilton, Mountcashell and Kirkpatrick [S., 1606] circa 1670.1

     James Hamilton, 3rd Lord Hamilton, Baron of Strabane was born in 1633.2 He was the son of Claud Hamilton, 2nd Lord Hamilton, Baron of Strabane and Lady Jean Gordon.1,2 He died on 16 June 1655 at Ballyfatten, IrelandG, said to have drowned while bathing in the Mourne River, without issue.2
     He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Hamilton, Baron of Strabane, co. Tyrone [I., 1617] on 14 June 1638.2 He fought in the Battle of Charlemont on 20 July 1650, where he fought on the side of his stepfather, Sir Phelim O'Neill, and was laten prisoner by the English, 6 Aug 1650.2

     George Hamilton, 4th Lord Hamilton, Baron of Strabane was born between 14 February 1636 and 1 December 1637.2 He was the son of Claud Hamilton, 2nd Lord Hamilton, Baron of Strabane and Lady Jean Gordon.1,3 He married Elizabeth Fagan, daughter of Christopher Fagan and Anne White, before 1659.2 He died on 14 April 1668.2 He was buried at St. Mechlin's Church, Rush, County Dublin, IrelandG.2 His will was proven (by probate) on 22 May 1668, his widow.4
     He succeeded as the 4th Lord Hamilton, Baron of Strabane, co. Tyrone [I., 1617] on 16 June 1655.2 His last will was dated 9 April 1668.4

     Claud Hamilton, 4th Earl of Abercorn was baptised on 13 September 1659 at St. Audoen's Church, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.3 He was born circa September 1659.3 He was the son of George Hamilton, 4th Lord Hamilton, Baron of Strabane and Elizabeth Fagan.1,4 He died in August 1691 at age 31 killed in action, while returning from France to Ireland, with a Dutch ship near Brest.3
     He succeeded as the 5th Lord Hamilton, Baron of Strabane, co. Tyrone [I., 1617] on 14 April 1668.3 He succeeded as the 4th Earl of Abercorn [S., 1606] circa 1680.3 He succeeded as the 4th Lord Paisley, co. Renfrew [S., 1587] circa 1680. He succeeded as the 4th Lord Abercorn, co. Linlithgow [S., 1603] circa 1680. He succeeded as the 4th Lord Paisley, Hamilton, Mountcashell and Kirkpatrick [S., 1606] circa 1680. He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland]4 He held the office of Lord of the Bedchamber to King James II.4 He fought in the Battle of the Boyne on 1 July 1690.4 On 11 May 1691 he was outlawed in Ireland, and his Irish titles were forfeited.3 He fought in the Battle of Aughrim on 12 July 1691, where he commanded a regiment of horse.3

     Elizabeth Fagan was the daughter of Christopher Fagan and Anne White.1,2 She married George Hamilton, 4th Lord Hamilton, Baron of Strabane, son of Claud Hamilton, 2nd Lord Hamilton, Baron of Strabane and Lady Jean Gordon, before 1659.2 She died after 12 January 1683/84.2
     She was created Baroness of Strabane before 1659. From before 1659, her married name became Hamilton.

She was the daughter of George Gordon, 1st Marquess of Huntly and Lady Henrietta Stuart.1 She married, firstly, Claud Hamilton, 2nd Lord Hamilton, Baron of Strabane, son of James Hamilton, 1st Earl of Abercorn and Marion Boyd, on 28 November 1632 at Kirk of Bellie, Elginshire, ScotlandG.1 She married, secondly, Sir Phelim 'Ruadh' O'Neill, son of Turlough O'Neill and Catherine O'Neill, circa 1649.1 She died after 9 April 1668.1
     She was also known as Jane Gordon. From 28 November 1632, her married name became Hamilton. After her marriage, Lady Jean Gordon was styled as Baroness of Strabane on 14 August 1634.1 In December 1641 , in the Irish Rebellion, she surrendered Strabane Castle to Sir Phelim O'Neill.1 From circa 1649, her married name became O'Neill.1

     Sir Phelim 'Ruadh' O'Neill was the son of Turlough O'Neill and Catherine O'Neill.2 He married Lady Jean Gordon, daughter of George Gordon, 1st Marquess of Huntly and Lady Henrietta Stuart, circa 1649.1 He married unknown Magennis, daughter of Hugh Magennis, 2nd Viscount Magennis of Iveagh.3 He died on 10 March 1652/53 at Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, executed for high treason.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1641 in the Catholic Army.3 He was leader of the insurgents in 1641.4 He lived at Caledon, County Tyrone, Ireland.3
