     Joachim I Nestor Kurfürst von Brandenburg was born on 21 February 1484.¹ He was the son of Johann Cicero Kurfürst von Brandenburg and Margarete von Sachsen.^1,2 He married Elizabeth Oldenburg, Princess of Denmark, daughter of Hans Oldenburg, King of Denmark and Norway and Christina von Sachsen, on 10 April 1502 at Stendal, Germany^G. He died on 11 July 1535 at age 51.
     He gained the title of Kurfürst von Brandenburg in 1499.²

     Karl Prinz von Brandenburg-Ansbach was born on 7 April 1733 at Ansbach, Germany^G.¹ He was the son of Karl Wilhelm Friedrich Markgraf von Brandenburg-Ansbach and Friederike Luise Prinzessin von Preußen.¹ He died on 9 May 1737 at age 4 at Schloss Reiesdorf^G.¹

     Christian Friedrich Karl Alexander Markgraf von Brandenburg-Ansbach was born on 24 February 1736 at Ansbach, Germany^G.² He was the son of Karl Wilhelm Friedrich Markgraf von Brandenburg-Ansbach and Friederike Luise Prinzessin von Preußen.¹ He married, firstly, Friederike Karoline Prinzessin von Sachsen-Coburg-Saalfeld, daughter of Franz Josias Herzog von Sachsen-Coburg-Saalfeld and Anne Sophie Prinzessin von Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, on 22 November 1754.² He married, secondly, Lady Elizabeth Berkeley, daughter of Lt.-Col. Augustus Berkeley, 4th Earl of Berkeley and Elizabeth Drax, on 13 October 1791 at Lisbon, Portugal^G.^3,4 He died on 5 January 1806 at age 69 at Benham Valence, Berkshire, England^G, from a pulmonary complaint.⁴ He was buried at Benham Valence, Berkshire, England^G.⁴
     He gained the title of Markgraf von Brandenburg-Bayreuth in 1769.² He sold his Principality to the King of Prussia.⁴

     Friederike Karoline Prinzessin von Sachsen-Coburg-Saalfeld was born on 24 June 1735 at Coburg, Bayern, Germany^G.¹ She was the daughter of Franz Josias Herzog von Sachsen-Coburg-Saalfeld and Anne Sophie Prinzessin von Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt.¹ She married, firstly, Christian Friedrich Karl Alexander Markgraf von Brandenburg-Ansbach, son of Karl Wilhelm Friedrich Markgraf von Brandenburg-Ansbach and Friederike Luise Prinzessin von Preußen, on 22 November 1754.¹ She died on 18 February 1791 at age 55 at Schwaningen, Germany^G.¹

     Franz Josias Herzog von Sachsen-Coburg-Saalfeld was born on 25 September 1697 at Saalfeld, Germany^G. He was the son of Johann Ernst Herzog von Sachsen-Saalfeld and Charlotte Joanna von Waldeck-Wildungen. He married Anne Sophie Prinzessin von Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, daughter of Friedrich Ludwig I Fürst zu Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt and Anna Sophie Prinzessin von Sachsen-Gotha-Altenburg, on 2 January 1723 at Rudolstadt, Germany^G. He died on 16 September 1764 at age 66 at Rodach, Germany^G.
     He gained the title of Herzog von Sachsen-Coburg-Saalfeld.¹

     Reverend Charles Mackenzie, 7th of Torrindon was born on 28 February 1807 at Welwyn, Hertfordshire, England.¹ He was the son of John Mackenzie, 5th of Torrindon and Anne van Dam.¹ He married Henrietta Simonds, daughter of Henry Simonds and Mary Goodman.¹ He died on 16 April 1888 at age 81 at Bloomsbury, London, England.¹
     He was Prebendary of St. Paul's Cathedral.¹

     Lady Elizabeth Berkeley was born on 17 December 1750 at Spring Gardens, St. Martin's-in-the-Fields, London, England^G.⁴ She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Augustus Berkeley, 4th Earl of Berkeley and Elizabeth Drax.¹ She married, firstly, William Craven, 6th Baron Craven of Hampsted Marshall, son of Reverend John Craven and Mary Hickes, on 30 May 1767 at Spring Gardens, St. Martin's-in-the-Fields, London, England^G.⁴ She married, secondly, Christian Friedrich Karl Alexander Markgraf von Brandenburg-Ansbach, son of Karl Wilhelm Friedrich Markgraf von Brandenburg-Ansbach and Friederike Luise Prinzessin von Preußen, on 13 October 1791 at Lisbon, Portugal^G.^5,4 She and William Craven, 6th Baron Craven of Hampsted Marshall were separated in 1780.⁴ She died on 13 January 1828 at age 77 at Naples, Italy^G.⁴
     From 30 May 1767, her married name became Craven. After her marriage, Lady Elizabeth Berkeley was styled as Baroness Craven of Hampsted Marshall on 17 March 1769.

     Lt.-Col. Augustus Berkeley, 4th Earl of Berkeley was born on 18 February 1715/16.² He was the son of Vice-Admiral James Berkeley, 3rd Earl of Berkeley and Lady Louisa Lennox.² He married Elizabeth Drax, daughter of Henry Drax and Elizabeth Ernle, on 7 May 1744.² He died on 9 January 1755 at age 38.² He was buried on 17 January 1755 at Berkeley, Gloucestershire, England^G.² His will was proven (by probate) in February 1755.²
     He gained the rank of Ensign in November 1734 in the 1st Regiment of Foot Guards.² He succeeded as the 4th Earl of Berkeley, co. Gloucester [E., 1679] on 17 August 1736.² He succeeded as the 4th Viscount Dursley, co. Gloucester [E., 1679] on 17 August 1736.² He succeeded as the 12th Lord Berkeley [E., 1421] on 17 August 1736.² He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1737 in the 2nd Regiment Foot Guards.² He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire between 1737 and 1755.² He held the office of Constable of St. Briavel's Castle between 1737 and 1755.² He was appointed Knight, Order of the Thistle (K.T.) on 9 June 1739.² His last will was dated 18 December 1751.

     Elizabeth Drax was born circa 1720.² She was the daughter of Henry Drax and Elizabeth Ernle.² She married, firstly, Lt.-Col. Augustus Berkeley, 4th Earl of Berkeley, son of Vice-Admiral James Berkeley, 3rd Earl of Berkeley and Lady Louisa Lennox, on 7 May 1744.² She married, secondly, Robert Nugent, 1st Earl Nugent, son of Michael Nugent and Mary Barnewall, on 2 January 1757 at Springs Garden, St. Martin's-in-the-Fields, London, England^G.² She died on 29 June 1792.² She was buried on 30 June 1792 at Berkeley, Gloucestershire, England^G.²
     After her marriage, Elizabeth Drax was styled as Countess of Berkeley on 7 May 1744. From 7 May 1744, her married name became Berkeley. She held the office of Lady of the Bedchamber to HRH The Princess of Wales in 1745.² From 2 January 1757, her married name became Nugent.
     Horace Walpole writes "there is nothing as black of which she is not capable."²

     William Craven, 6th Baron Craven of Hampsted Marshall was born on 11 September 1738 at Staunton Lacy, Shropshire, England^G.^1,3 He was the son of Reverend John Craven and Mary Hickes.^4,3 He married Lady Elizabeth Berkeley, daughter of Lt.-Col. Augustus Berkeley, 4th Earl of Berkeley and Elizabeth Drax, on 30 May 1767 at Spring Gardens, St. Martin's-in-the-Fields, London, England^G.³ He and Lady Elizabeth Berkeley were separated in 1780.³ He died on 27 September 1791 at age 53 at Lausanne, Switzerland^G.³ He was buried at Binley, Coventry, Warwickshire, England^G.³ His will was proven (by probate) in November 1791.³
     He matriculated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, on 20 October 1756.³ He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1762 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)³ He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1766 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)³ He succeeded as the 6th Baron Craven of Hampsted Marshall, Berkshire [E., 1627] on 17 March 1769.³ He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil LAw (D.C.L.) by Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, on 7 July 1773.³ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Berkshire between 1786 and 1791.³
