Lord Frederick Cavendish-Bentinck, son of William Henry Cavendish-Bentinck, 3rd Duke of Portland and Lady Dorothy Cavendish, on 16 September 1820.¹ She died on 21 October 1862 at age 80 at 74 Pulteneny Street, Bath, Somerset, England.^1,2
     Her married name became Cavendish-Bentinck.

     William Bentinck, 2nd Duke of Portland was born on 1 March 1708/9.¹ He was the son of Capt.-Gen.      From 11 July 1734, her married name became Bentinck. After her marriage, Lady Margaret Cavendish Harley was styled as Duchess of Portland on 11 July 1734.
     She was celebrated by Prior as 'My noble, lovely little Peggy.⁴'

Henry Bentinck, 1st Duke of Portland was born on 17 March 1682.¹ He was the son of Hans William Bentinck, 1st Earl of Portland and Anne Villiers.¹ He married Lady Elizabeth Noel, daughter of Wriothesley Baptist Noel, 2nd Earl of Gainsborough and Hon.      Jane Martha Temple was born in 1672.¹ She was the daughter of Sir John Temple and Jane Yarner.¹ She married, firstly, Admiral John Berkeley, 3rd Baron Berkeley of Stratton, son of John Berkeley, 1st Baron Berkeley of Stratton and Christiana Riccard, on 8 March 1691/92.¹ She married, secondly, Hans William Bentinck, 1st Earl of Portland, son of Bernard Bentinck, Baron Bentinck and Anne van Bloemendale, on 12 May 1700 at Chiswick, London, England^G.¹ She died on 26 June 1751 at Whitehall, London, England^G.¹ She was buried at Mortlake, Surrey, England^G.² Her will was proven (by probate) on 20 July 1751.²
     From 8 March 1691/92, her married name became Berkeley.¹ After her marriage, Jane Martha Temple was styled as Baroness Berkeley of Stratton on 8 March 1691/92.      Anne Villiers was born in 1651.² She was the daughter of Sir Edward Villiers and Lady Frances Howard.^1,3 She married Hans William Bentinck, 1st Earl of Portland, son of Bernard Bentinck, Baron Bentinck and Anne van Bloemendale, on 1 February 1678 at The Hague, The Netherlands^G.⁴ She died on 30 November 1688 at The Hague, The Netherlands^G.⁴
     She was also known as Frances.³ She was Maid of Honour to Mary, Princess of Orange (later Queen Mary.)⁴ Her married name became Bentinck.

     William Bentinck, 1st Graf Bentinck was born on 6 November 1704.² He was the son of Hans William Bentinck, 1st Earl of Portland and Jane Martha Temple.² He married Charlotte Sophie Gräfin von Aldenburg, daughter of Anton II Graf von Aldenburg and Wilhelmine Marie Prinzessin von Hessen-Homburg, on 1 June 1733.² He died on 13 October 1774 at age 69.²
     He was created 1st Graf Bentinck [Holy Roman Empire] in 1732.² He lived at Pendrecht, The Netherlands^G.² He lived at Terrington St. Clement, Norfolk, England^G.² He lived at Rhoon, The Netherlands^G.²

     Charlotte Sophie Gräfin von Aldenburg was born on 4 August 1715.¹ She was the daughter of Anton II Graf von Aldenburg and Wilhelmine Marie Prinzessin von Hessen-Homburg.¹ She married William Bentinck, 1st Graf Bentinck, son of Hans William Bentinck, 1st Earl of Portland and Jane Martha Temple, on 1 June 1733.¹ She died on 5 February 1800 at age 84.¹
     She gained the title of Gräfin von Aldenburg.¹ Her married name became Bentinck. She held the office of Sovereign Lord of Kniphausen and Varel.¹
