He married, firstly, Lutgardis von Bronckhorst, daughter of Gisbert von Bronckhorst, circa 1315. He married, secondly, Elisabeth von Rostock, daughter of Nicholas Prinz von Rostock and Margaret von Pommern-Wolgast, circa 1317.
     He gained the title of Graf von Oldenburg-Delmenhorst.
