     James Dewar was the son of James Evan Dewar.1 He married Hermione de Vere Beauclerk, daughter of Major Aubrey Nelthorpe Beauclerk and Vera Eileen Mary Francis, on 1 October 1939.1 He died on 12 May 1983.1
     He was awarded the George Medal (G.M.)1 He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.1 He was appointed Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants (F.C.A.)1 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)1

     Peter de Vere Beauclerk-Dewar was born on 19 February 1943.1 He was the son of James Dewar and Hermione de Vere Beauclerk.1 He married Sarah Ann Sweet Verge Rudder, daughter of Major Lionel John Verge Rudder, on 4 February 1967.1 He died on 1 August 2024 at age 81.2
     He was given the name of Peter de Vere Dewar at birth.1 He was educated at Ampleforth College, Ampleforth, Yorkshire, England.1 On 26 October 1965 his name was legally changed to Peter de Vere Beauclerk-Dewar.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Naval Reserve.1 He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers.1 He was awarded the Knight, Sovereign Military Order of Malta in 1971.1 He co-authored the book The House of Nell Gwynn, published 1974.1 He held the office of Falkland Pursuivant Extraordinary in 1975.1 He was awarded the Reserve Decoration (R.D.) in 1980 and bar (1990.)1 He was appointed Officer, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (O.St.J.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Inner London.1 He wrote the book The Family History Record Book, published 1991.1 He was awarded the The House of Dewar in 1991.1 He edited the book Burkes Landed Gentry of Scotland, published 2001.1
