Lt.-Col. William Wallace Smith Cuninghame, 16th of Caprington was born on 18 May 1889. He was the son of Lt.-Col. John Anstruther Smith Cuninghame, 15th of Caprington and Violet Mary Slade.1 He married, firstly, Ella Cutlar Fergusson, 20th of Craigdarroch, daughter of Robert Cutlar Fergusson, 19th of Craigdarroch and Rose Hodgson, on 8 August 1918.1 He married, secondly, Lady Marjorie Joan Mary Wentworth-Fitzwilliam, daughter of William Charles de Meuron Fitzwilliam, 7th Earl Fitzwilliam and Lady Maud Frederica Elizabeth Dundas, on 6 October 1949.1 He died on 5 July 1959 at age 70.1

William Wallace Smith Cuninghame, 16th of Caprington, son of Lt.-Col. John Anstruther Smith Cuninghame, 15th of Caprington and Violet Mary Slade, on 8 August 1918.3 She died on 22 April 1928 at age 38.3
