     He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the 13th Middlesex Regiment.¹

     She was with the Women's Royal Naval Service during the First World War.¹ From 6 January 1925, her married name became Eastwood.¹ She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)¹

     John Patrick Basil Eastwood is the son of William Seymour Eastwood and Cecil Emma Chetwynd-Talbot.¹ He married Katherine Margaret James, daughter of Charles Ashworth James and Margaret Louisa Moir, on 6 January 1925.¹

     Eleanor Marion James was born on 1 June 1897.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Ashworth James and Margaret Louisa Moir.¹
