Sir James Richardson Andrew Clark, 2nd Bt. was born on 24 August 1852.1 He was the son of Sir Andrew Clark, 1st Bt. and Seton Mary Percy Forster.1 He married Lilian Margaret Hopkins, daughter of Robert John Hopkins, on 20 April 1893.1 He died on 18 January 1948 at age 95.1
He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Diploma of Public Health.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Clark, of Cavendish Square, co. London [U.K., 1883] on 6 November 1893.1 He fought in the Boer War in 1902.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Army Medical Corps.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1902.1 He was Chief Commissioner, St. John's Hospital Brigade between 1911 and 1936.1 He was in charge of St. John's Ambulance Brigade Hospitals in France between 1915 and 1916.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1916.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh (F.R.C.S.E.)1 He was appointed Bailiff Grand Cross, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (G.C.St.J.)1
