     Sir Robert McAlpine, 1st Bt. was born on 13 February 1847.2 He was the son of Robert McAlpine.3 He married, firstly, Agnes Hepburn, daughter of William Hepburn, in 1867.2 He married, secondly, Florence Margaret Palmer in 1889.2 He died on 3 November 1934 at age 87.2
     He was head of Sir Robert McAlpine and Sons, civil engineering contractors.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hertfordshire.2 He was created 1st Baronet McAlpine, of Knott Park, Surrey [U.K.] on 2 July 1918.2

     Marjorie Nell Brookes was born on 11 December 1901.2 She was the daughter of Hon. Marshall Jones Brooks and Florence Thomas.1 She married Thomas Henry Raymond Ashton, 2nd Baron Ashton of Hyde, son of Thomas Gair Ashton, 1st Baron Ashton of Hyde and Eva Margaret James, on 10 June 1925.1 She died in 1993.3
     Her married name became Ashton. After her marriage, Marjorie Nell Brookes was styled as Baroness Ashton of Hyde on 1 May 1933. She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Gloucestershire in 1949.4

     Thomas Henry Raymond Ashton, 2nd Baron Ashton of Hyde was born on 2 October 1901.1 He was the son of Thomas Gair Ashton, 1st Baron Ashton of Hyde and Eva Margaret James.1 He was baptised on 11 December 1901 at All Saints Church, Ennismore Gardens, London, EnglandG.1 He married Marjorie Nell Brookes, daughter of Hon. Marshall Jones Brooks and Florence Thomas, on 10 June 1925.1 He died on 21 March 1983 at age 81.2
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Ashton of Hyde, co. Chester [U.K., 1911] on 1 May 1933.1 He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1934 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1,3 He was Master of the Hethrop Hounds between 1934 and 1952.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Gloucestershire in 1944.3 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Gloucestershire in 1957.3

Robert Henry Langton Brackenbury, on 18 May 1957.2 He died on 2 August 2008 at age 81.3

     Pauline Trewlove Brackenbury was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Robert Henry Langton Brackenbury.1 She married Thomas John Ashton, 3rd Baron Ashton of Hyde, son of Thomas Henry Raymond Ashton, 2nd Baron Ashton of Hyde and Marjorie Nell Brookes, on 18 May 1957.1 She died on 4 November 2014.2
     Her married name became Ashton. After her marriage, Pauline Trewlove Brackenbury was styled as Baroness Ashton of Hyde on 21 March 1983.
