Brigadier Arthur Harry Langham Godfrey was born on 26 January 1896 at Newton Abbot, Devon, England.2 He was the son of C. E. R. Godfrey.1 He married Mabel Sophia Barrett-Lennard, daughter of William Barrett-Lennard and Laura Sophia Johnson, on 15 June 1918.1 He died on 5 November 1942 at age 46, killed in action.1
He was educated at Central College, Geelong, Victoria, Australia.2 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1918.2 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1916.1 He was awarded the Efficiency Decoration (E.D.)2 He gained the rank of Brigadier in the 2/6 Australian Infantry Ballation, Australian Imperial Force.1 He fought in the Second World War.
