Field Marshal Sir Charles Henry Brownlow was born on 12 December 1831.1 He was the son of Colonel George Arthur Brownlow and Cornelia Paulina Sandby.1 He married Georgiana King, daughter of W. C. King, in 1890.1 He died on 5 April 1916 at age 84, without issue.1
He fought in the Punjab Campaign in 1848.1 He fought in the Bozdar Expedition in 1857.1 He fought in the Eusofzal Expedition in 1858.1 He fought in the China War in 1860.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1863.1 He fought in the Ambeyla Expedition in 1863.1 He fought in the Hazara Campaign in 1868.1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM Queen Victoria between 1869 and 1881.1 He fought in the Looshal Expedition between 1871 and 1872.1 He was a practising Assistant Military Secretary at Horse Guards between 1879 and 1889.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1887.1 He gained the rank of Field Marshal.1
