Edmund Ralph Brockman was born on 22 October 1828 at Kent, England.² He was the son of William Locke Brockman and Anne Frances Elizabeth Hamersley.² He married Elizabeth Deborah Slade, daughter of Frederick William Slade and Jane Thomson, on 18 March 1852 at Middle Swan Anglican Church, Western Australia, Australia.² He died on 17 September 1908 at age 79 at Guildford, Perth, Western Australia, Australia.²
