     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He held the office of Chief Justice of Bengal between 1875 and 1886.1 He was appointed Knight on 13 May 1875.1
