     Sir Denis John Wolko Browne was born on 28 April 1892 at Toorak, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.¹ He was the son of Sylvester John Browne and Anne Catherine Stawell.¹ He married Helen de Guerry Simpson, daughter of Edward Percy Simpson and Anna Maria Alexandra Guerry de Lauret, on 21 April 1927.¹ He married Lady Moyra Blanche Madeleine Ponsonby, daughter of Vere Brabazon Ponsonby, 9th Earl of Bessborough and Roberte de Neuflize, on 10 December 1945 at Registry Office, Chelsea, London, England.¹ He died on 9 January 1967 at age 74 at Wilton Street, Westminster, London, England.¹
     He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Surgeons (F.R.C.S.) in 1922.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) in 1961.¹

     Sylvester John Browne was the son of Silvester Browne.¹ He married Anne Catherine Stawell, daughter of Sir William Foster Stawell and Mary Frances Elizabeth Greene.¹ He died in 1915.¹
