Maj.-Gen. Sir William Henry Onslow was born on 28 September 1863.1 He was the son of Reverend Thomas George Onslow and Mary Frances Burton.1 He married Margaret Beatrice Bates, daughter of Thomas Bates, on 15 December 1899.1 He died on 19 June 1929 at age 65.1
He fought in the Boer War in 1900.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in the Royal Artillery.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Dorset.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.)1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dorset.1

Phipps Vansittart Onslow was born on 2 September 1790.1 He was the son of Very Rev. Arthur Onslow and Frances Phipps.1 He married, firstly, Harriet Winnington, daughter of Sir Edward Winnington, 2nd Bt. and Hon. Anne Foley, on 21 July 1820.1 He married, secondly, Lucy Moseley, daughter of Walter Michael Moseley, on 20 February 1834.1 He died on 10 May 1867 at age 76.1
