Lewis Crichton, 4th Viscount of Frendraught1

     Lewis Crichton, 4th Viscount of Frendraught was the son of James Crichton, 1st Viscount Frendraught and Marion Irvine.1 He married Marjory Seaton, daughter of Thomas Seaton.1 He died on 26 February 1698 at Saint Germain-en-Laye, France.1
     He was tutor (i.e. Scottish guardian) of William Crichton, 3rd Viscount Frendraught on 4 December 1678.1 He succeeded as the 4th Viscount Frendraught [S., 1642] before 9 December 1686.1 He succeeded as the 4th Lord Crichton [S., 1642] before 9 December 1686.1 On 9 December 1686 he was served heir to his nephew.1 He was appointed Privy Counesllor (P.C.) [Scotland] on 10 August 1688.1 He fought in the Battle of Killiecrankie.1 On 14 July 1690 he was declared forfeit by the Scottish Parliament.1 On 21 June 1694 he was released from prison by warrant.1

Marjory Seaton1

     Marjory Seaton was the daughter of Thomas Seaton.1 She married Lewis Crichton, 4th Viscount of Frendraught, son of James Crichton, 1st Viscount Frendraught and Marion Irvine.1 She died on 4 February 1724 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1
     Her married name became Crichton.1 After her marriage, Marjory Seaton was styled as Viscountess Frendraught before 9 December 1686.

     George Crichton was born on 27 May 1664.1 He was the son of George Crichton, 1st of Auchingoul and Jean Irvine.1 He died on 11 June 1748 at age 84 at Ratisbon, Bavaria, Germany.1
     He was a monk on 25 March 1684 at Scots Abbey, Ratisbon, Bavaria, Germany.1 On 9 August 1718 he resigned his inheritance as heir of the Viscounts of Frendraught in favour of his brother, James.1
