     He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the 4th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment.¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)¹

     Cecil Bligh Nutting was the daughter of Phillip Nutting.¹ She married Eustace Cuthbert Quilter, son of Sir William Cuthbert Quilter, 1st Bt. and Mary Anne Bevington, on 29 May 1906.¹ She died on 12 July 1950.¹
     From 29 May 1906, her married name became Quilter.¹

     Phillip Nutting lived at Stanmore, Middlesex, England.¹
